I then applied these assets to a fictional collaboration between ACRONYM® and my own conceptual brand, ANTIFRAGILE, producing a Fall/Winter 2023 line sheet that reflects the technical, utilitarian aesthetic of ACRONYM® while integrating my own artistic direction.
I began by researching the Cologne Cathedral in Germany and developed a detailed moodboard on Photoshop to set the colors and shapes for the line. I extracted forms from the stained glass and the interior and exterior architecture.
I then took those shapes and turned them into patterns on Adobe Illustrator and experimented with different colorways.
Following the patterns, I chose ACRONYM® as my collaboration brand due to its technical outerwear, industrial construction, and minimalist visual identity.
I created my own brand concept, ANTIFRAGILE, whose visual direction leans darker, sharper, and more experimental, making it a natural pairing for a design-driven collaboration.
Using the custom patterns I developed, I hand-illustrated every garment silhouette in Illustrator, including pieces such as:
Dri-Fit Cropped Tank
Peripheral Crossbody Bag
Insulated Puffer Jacket
Cargo Trouser
Utility Vest
Organic Sweatpant
Air Jet Wool Hat
Windstopper Jacket
For each item, I incorporated specific fabrics used by ACRONYM® such as Gore-Tex®, PrimaLoft®, Schoeller® Dryskin™.
Developed retail, wholesale pricing, shipping dates, SKU codes inspired by ACRONYM®’s naming conventions and colorways based on my custom palette.
This was my first major project during my freshman year of college. It taught me so many skills that I forgot I ever had to learn in the first place. Everything on Illustrator was new to me like drawing line sheets, developing patterns, even making mood boards on Photoshop.
